1) A daguerrotype is an image being copied onto a metal plate. The daguerrotype was made to resemble a mirror and thats why the photos were flipped.2) albumen print also known as albumen silver print, was the
first photograph printing on paper material. It was made 100% out of cotton and it got a coat of egg white. This type of method was very popular in the late 19th century and then died out after that.
3) A stereograph is a way and technique to see an image 3D. They were very popular throughout the beginning of the 1900.
4) A carte de visite is a small version of a photograph. They were used to pass to friends almost like post cards or little school pictures now days.

Alexander Gardner was best known for his American civil war photos and also pictures of
abraham lincoln.
